0.5 to 4.0 seconds
A micro-expression usually lasts just 0.5 to 4.0 seconds and cannot be forced. Short involuntary facial expressions are something we humans show when we try to hide something, suppress or feel something. At the same time, our eyes are also affected by situations we find ourselves in. As humans, we communicate mostly with our eyes revealing lies, sincerity, joy and hope in the eyes of others. If we see someone we are attracted to, our pupils dilate. Our eyes open when we are surprised, and they focus on a specific point when we try to revisit a memory. Hope has different expressions, depending on the situation you are in.
